On Wednesday, 14 January 2026, Prof. Dr. Marshet Tadesse Tessema will give a lecture on “Conflict, Transition, Justice in Ethiopia.” You are most cordially invited to attend.
Marshet Tadesse Tessema is an alumnus of the Network, Professor of International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice at the Ethiopian Civil Service University in Addis Ababa and was a member of the Transitional Justice Working Group established by the Ethiopian government. He is, among other works, the author of Prosecution of Politicide in Ethiopia (Springer 2018) as well as the first (and to date only) textbook on criminal law in Ethiopia (Ethiopian Criminal Law, 2024).
In his lecture, he will, among other topics, address the conflict in the Tigray region that has been ongoing since 2020, as well as efforts toward transitional justice in an increasingly authoritarian and repressive state environment.
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. (CET). Please note that the event will take place exclusively online.
