Recently, a new LL.M. programme at Humboldt University, offered in English, has been launched (https://humboldt-llm.hu-berlin.de/). Applications for the next year’s cohort (2026/2027) will open in December. The programme allows for specializations in three areas of law: justice & security (including international and transnational criminal justice), innovation & transformation, and law & society. As you see, the programme is different from the former UWC-HU LL.M., but it also allows for a certain specialization in the area of international/transnational criminal law.
A series of global online information sessions will be held to raise awareness of the programme. The LL.M. is designed to attract a truly global cohort of students. Students from Africa are particularly encouraged to apply.
On 19 November 2025 there will be an online information event specifically for students from universities across the African continent who are interested in the programme. The event will be chaired by Professor Jeßberger, together with other staff of the LL.M. team. Please see the attached document for the exact time and the Zoom link.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could help to promote the event – for example by forwarding the invitation mail to your students, the international office, or any other individuals or institutions that could help spread the word. The event will be held via Zoom and will last approximately one hour, featuring a presentation of the programme followed by a Q&A session with prospective students.
